Satipatthana, often translated as “focus of mindfulness”, is a key practice in Buddhism that lays the groundwork for the development of mindfulness and insight. It is rooted in the Satipatthana Sutta (Majjhima Nikaya 10), which outlines four focus areas for mindfulness practice. This is really the seventh factor in the noble eightfold way.
