Welcome to the meditation retreat at Venabu April 19th till 26th 2026.
We continue the success from the last three years! As of today, 125 people have expressed their interest, so this retreat will be full this year as well, to the great joy of us who organise and for the participants. The price will be NOK 8.950 (EUR 760) which is about cost price for the retreat. To secure your place, you must book and pay a minimum deposit and then the remaining amount no later than 4 weeks before the retreat starts.
The registration on this page, is for a private room with bath/shower, inclusive food, bedding and cleaning after you leave. If you want to register for a privat cabin/hut, then see further down on this page.
The instructors have the instructor job full-time, live on gifts, and receive no salary. In addition, all work done in the society is based on volunteering. We are therefore very grateful if you would support the society as much as you can when registering, to cover the cost of operations and development.

Description
Time: From Sunday 19th till 26th April 2026. Starting at lunch 12.00 noon on the first day, departure after lunch on the last day.
Location: Venabu Fjellhotell, Rondevegen 860, 2632 Venabygd.
Language: All teachings will be given in English, but private interviews can be done in Norwegian language.
Price: A total of NOK 8.950 (EUR 760), you can first pay a deposit of NOK 2000, then the remaining amount 4 weeks before the retreat starts.
Arrival the day before: For those who wish to arrive the day before, book this directly with Venabu Fjellhotell, it costs NOK 450 (EUR 38) for accommodation and breakfast. Dinner served in the evening for an additional fee.
Pick-up service: if you use the train, there is a pick-up service from Ringebu station. It can be booked directly with Venabu Fjellhotell.
Transport: Each individual must provide transport to and from themselves, but we help connect those who have their own transport with those who do not.
Food: Vegetarian with eggs and milk.
Age: Minimum age for participation is 18 years.

Medicine and Health
If you have a physical illness, remember to bring the necessary medicine. Meditation cannot replace medicine. If you have a physical illness that gets worse from long periods of sitting or walking, check with your doctor before signing up.
If you have a mental disorder, you must clarify with Ajahn Nitho and health personnel before registration. Meditation cannot replace therapy or medication, and a retreat is not a place where you can stop or adjust medication.
Registration
You register by pressing the “Add to Cart” button at the top of this page. Your registration is valid when we have received the payment.
IMPORTANT: For those who have paid a deposit or the full participation fee of NOK 8.950, and subsequently withdraw from the retreat, even after the retreat has started, regardless of reason (including illness), the amount will be refunded if the society finds another person, for example from the retreat’s waiting list. Otherwise, we recommend travel insurance, to remove the risk if you have to withdraw, for example due to illness, and the society cannot find someone to take your place.
IMPORTANT: According to Norwegian law, you have a 14-day cancellation period for services purchased over the internet. This then applies 14 days after registration, or until the service is delivered – i.e. the retreat begins.
