Two newsletters – Events and News – Norwegian and English

Necessary technical changes have now been implemented, so that DNBF moving forwared will have two different newsletters. 'DNBF Event' is a newsletter that comes out 5-10 times a year about our activities and events. 'DNBF News' will be published between 30-50 times a year and will be news in general – about the society, inspiration, books, equality, articles, etc.

You can choose which newsletters and languages by going to the Newsletter website.

7 day retreat in October 2025

There will be a 7-day silent retreat at Venabu for the fourth time, from 26th of October to 2nd of November 2025, and this time we are working towards a mix of beginners and experienced participants, but want to give the most focus to those with little experience. As usual, the goal is wisdom that creates a beautiful mind and freedom, through calm surroundings, kindness, beautiful emotions and meditation.

English-speaking participants are also welcome, but much of the teaching will be in Norwegian.

5 days retreat outside Stockholm

There will also be a 5-day silent retreat at Finnhamn outside Stockholm from 9th to 14th of March 2026, with Venerable Canda and Nitho as instructors. This is a collaborative project between the Nordic societies, but details and registration will come later. So if an archipelago retreat is tempting, then set aside the week in your calendar.

7 days tetreat Venabu April 2026

An international retreat will again be arranged at Venabu Fjellhotel in April 2026 with participants from Norway, Europe and America, and as normal will both Venerable Canda and Nitho be instructors, who plan to come with new and interesting teaching. It is now possible to register a non-binding interest in this retreat.

Helsinki, Warsaw/Łódź and Stockholm

In October, November and December there will be weekend retreats in Finland, Sweden and Poland. More information will come later.

Pali language course

We are also working on defining a Pali language course together with a professor in Sweden, and we now have enough interest to make it happen. This course is for those who want to be able to go a little behind the translations that exist today, which opens up a closeness to a deepely inspiring teaching. More information will come later.

The dream

The board of DNBF and some members are now working on dreaming and defining what we want to create, as well as how and why − and what property and buildings we need in Norway to make this happen. So at the moment we are thinking very fundamentally, but also freely − and Midjourney AI does not disappoint with cool images, which probably never will reach the next phase during fall/winter where we have to be more specific, and find property that fits the project. But we want to be brave − and we're thinking pretty big now.

We are very open to input, so if you have something on your mind, please contact the chair of DNBF by email post@dnbf.org
