I have long tried to guess what motivated our supporters to give and help − some with monetary gifts, others with time and expertise − but the longer I work with this society, the more I realize that we are constantly changing, and that I am unable to put your motivation in a box.

There is no single experience of DNBF. Our interests are as diverse as we all are, but I still see the result of the help we receive − regardless of motivation.

The purpose of the society is nicely defined in the articles of association:

To promote the Buddhist teachings in theory and practiceto promote existing and new teaching, as well as establish and maintain facilities to make the learning and practice accessible. Facilities include both land-property, buildings and equipment. The activities shall be characterized by volunteerism, democracy, equality, honesty, loyalty, generosity and ethics.

In connection with the upcoming national media coverage the society will receive at the end of September, we summarized the downloads of digital teaching provided by the society January to August 2025:

Media Downloads
Apple, Amazon, ++ 1700
Spotify 1300
YouTube 1800
Sum Up 4800
Total 2025 (expected) 7500

We are thus on our way to around 7500 downloads of high-quality teaching in 2025 − and we are still a young society. It is really only now that the society will grow out of the days of childhood, and our dreams will be realized as young adults.

So when you visit us next time, I hope you feel that a part of DNBF belongs to you. Because without you, and without the thousands of people who come back to us throughout the year, we would be nothing.

Thank you for giving DNBF shape, meaning and momentum.
