Satipatthana is a very central teaching in Buddhism, and it points to how mindfulness is established or applied to achieve wisdom and freedom. We gain insight into why mindfulness cannot be understood in isolation, but must be seen in a larger whole.

Ajahn Brahmali was born in Norway in 1964. He first became interested in Buddhism in his early 20s, and he took full ordination in 1996 at the Bodhinyana Monastery with Ajahn Brahm as his preceptor. He is renowned for his excellent knowledge of the Pali language and his enthusiasm for teaching the suttas. He has also published numerous essays on important points of Dhamma, including the legitimacy of bhikkhuni ordination, which he is a supporter of. In 2022 Ajahn Brahmali was awarded an honorary doctorate degree for his contribution to Buddhist studies.
