The Buddhist Soceity of Norway (DNBF) is in a very special situation right now. From 2026, the state will double the requirement for receiving state financial support, from 50 to 100 members. We have grown steadily and organically for many years, but as of the first week of December, we count 92 members. This means that we only need 8 to keep the state financial support next year! Here’s the difference:

• 100 members by 31.12.2025 = NOK 155,000 in state financial support
• 99 members or fewer = NOK 0 !

NOK 155,000 is funds that make it possible for us to:

• continue to build a warm and inclusive Buddhist community
• invite teachers from the Ajahn Chah tradition to Norway
• hold multiple sessions in silence and give teachings towards insights
• continue working on the dream of a retreat center in Eastern Norway

We are rarely actively seeking members; DNBF has grown naturally through retreats, teaching and the people who find their way to us. But now that we are SO close to the goal, we hope that you will help us the last bit.
