This happened after Ajahn Nitho many months earlier, decided to return to Norway, and continue as a senior bhikkhu in Norway.
But it was only when Jon Endre got in touch, after finding Ajahn Nitho’s website, that the idea of founding a new society quickly came on the table. The BSWA in West-Australia was the inspiration – which has a structure and a foundation that is suitable for a western country.
The society is a long-term project, and has been given a really good focus on teaching and practice, inspired by early Buddhism, and the forest tradition from which Ajahn Nitho has his background.
