The committee convenes DNBF's annual general meeting on Friday 7th of March, at 17.00 CET, at the premises of Wahl Larsen Advokatfirma, Fridtjof Nansens plass 5, 0160 Oslo.

It seems like every center in Finland has a sauna, including retreat centers - and often combined with ice bathing. This was also the case at Friendship Inn.

Lumbini, Bodh Gaya, Sarnath and Kusinara are four places in India for inspiration and motivation, and in 2024 DNBF made its first trip to India.

There will be an residential weekend retreat in Finland, an 8-day retreat outside Trondheim, an advanced weekend retreat in Stockholm, for deeper inspiration we are planning an intensive Pali language course - and we will meet at a café in Oslo in the pre-holliday rush, while others are now start their trip to India!

Johanneshov in Stockholm was the district, Kroppsverkstan was the center, and 30 people came to join a weekend retreat. Bhikkhuni Vimala also made the trip from Belgium.

From the opposite side of the planet, the retreat's instructor Bhante Sujato came by plane to Oslo, and he was transported straight to the mountains to rest and overcome jet lag, before the retreat at Venabu started.

This talk is about the process the Buddha went through learning to meditate, starting with an experiences he had as a child, which teachers he met and learned from and how he was conditioned by other schools.

We got to rent premises at Energiverkstedet in Stavanger, and then we had a weekend retreat with basic meditation and mindfulness.

DNBF's first meeting with Finland was in Kreivila, and the retreat was - just like the society's first retreat in Norway - a smaller but open retreat where the participants got to know each other well.

On the weekend of 11th and 12th of May 2024, DNBF was in Stockholm for the first time to teach basic meditation and mindfulness. We had found Hälsans Hus by the old town - close to the city center and with fantastic views.

Summer is almost here and a few events remain before the holidays, and the late summer events are starting to fall into place - as usual, we are gathering inspiration from near and far!

49 participants from 9 countries met at Venabu for meditation and inspiration for 8 days - nice weather, lots of meditation, inspiration, smiles and joy, as well as good opportunities for skiing or walking for fresh air.

A doctor who wants to freeze his body when he dies, in the hope of a longer or eternal life. A bhikkhu who claims that we already have eternal life - only that we change bodies at the end of the life cycle, and that there is something better. A priest who hopes and believes in eternal life through Christian faith.

On the weekend of 13th and 14th of April 2024, Kindfulness was the topic at Pranahuset in Sandvika. Ajahn Nitho attracted a full house of meditators, and the focus was Buddha's instructions "sukhino cittaṃ samādhiyati" - the mind of a happy person gets deep meditation.

At her mother's home in Ørsta, the Norwegian Bhikkhu is back where he grew up. "My family has been very supportive of the change in my life. Over a cup of tea, I am reminiscing about the time when Ajahn Nitho was Bjørge Berg.

What could be better than having a retreat in a place called Sorgenfri (free of sorrow), south of Trondheim?

We were greeted with blue skies, sun and snow in Tromsø on Friday 15th of March - and found a city teeming with tourists from all over the world - in the middle of winter. But some also came to explore their minds.
