A week of silence, freedom from responsibility, being able to sleep in, kindness, inspiration and beautiful nature gives the mind a strength that is experienced as very beautiful and uplifting. So the goal was to create a good setting for a group of 30 people, consisting of 50% beginners and 50% more experienced participants. And when the strength returns to the mind, the smiles and laughter and the deeper meditations come. This mental strength also expresses itself as a clear mind, which is the tool we need to be able to go into our mind—or our life—and understand what creates happiness and what creates problems.
So the focus was all the basics – what is the foundation of meditation, what underpins meditation, what type of meditation works best for different types of states of mind, what is hindering our meditation, and what is meditation in relation to the eight-part path and the four noble truths.
The society now also wants to start publishing our teaching on video, in addition to podcasts − so we used the opportunity to test technical equipment and studio lights − and there we have a lot to learn.
