We got to rent premises at Energiverkstedet in Stavanger, and then we had a weekend retreat with basic meditation and mindfulness.

DNBF's first meeting with Finland was in Kreivila, and the retreat was - just like the society's first retreat in Norway - a smaller but open retreat where the participants got to know each other well.

On the weekend of 11th and 12th of May 2024, DNBF was in Stockholm for the first time to teach basic meditation and mindfulness. We had found Hälsans Hus by the old town - close to the city center and with fantastic views.

Summer is almost here and a few events remain before the holidays, and the late summer events are starting to fall into place - as usual, we are gathering inspiration from near and far!

49 participants from 9 countries met at Venabu for meditation and inspiration for 8 days - nice weather, lots of meditation, inspiration, smiles and joy, as well as good opportunities for skiing or walking for fresh air.

Often the meditation object, for example the breath, is too subtle to focus on, maybe because your life is bussy with work, responsibilities and being social.

Doing breath meditation ends sometimes up being dry and out of oomph, then try the advice of the Buddha.

A bhikkhu who claims that we already have eternal life - only that we change bodies at the end of the life cycle, and that there is something better. On the weekend of 13th and 14th of April 2024, Kindfulness was the topic at Pranahuset in Sandvika. Ajahn Nitho attracted a full house of meditators, and the focus was Buddha's instructions "sukhino cittaṃ samādhiyati" - the mind of a happy person gets deep meditation.

At her mother's home in Ørsta, the Norwegian Bhikkhu is back where he grew up. "My family has been very supportive of the change in my life. Over a cup of tea, I am reminiscing about the time when Ajahn Nitho was Bjørge Berg.

We were greeted with blue skies, sun and snow in Tromsø on Friday 15th of March - and found a city teeming with tourists from all over the world - in the middle of winter. But some also came to explore their minds.

It's snowing, and we hope the cross country snow stays in Rondane, where we have the Venabu retreat 2024 in April. We're also looking forward to a snow-free inspiring indoor winter weekend in Trondheim - and when it comes to India, we guarantee a snow-free trip to the Buddha's homeland.

The Faith Society DNBF - join the Buddhist Society of Norway on an important next step!

In order to be able to grow and gain greater financial muscle, DNBF has explored the possibility of registering as a faith community, and is now asking for feedback from all members.

Our first 9-day retreat in Trøndelag was at Troset, a new retreat center just outside Trondheim. It was a great retreat, in nice new premises!

DNBF's spiritual director did his annual three-month retreat in the mountains of Western Norway, a period with a focus on study, meditation and health.
